All Souls Day is a holy day set aside for honoring the dead. In countries with a Christian tradition, it is customary during this day or period to visit the graveyard and family grave to light a candle or to lay living flowers on it to symbolize the belief in eternal life and to demonstrate the belief that life does not end with a grave. On All Souls Day, we not only remember the dead, but we apply our efforts, through prayer, almsgiving, and the Mass, to their release from Purgatory. The celebration of All Souls' Day is on 2 November and follows All Saints' Day.
Dušičky (All Souls' Day) - the memory of all the deceased. On this day we devote the memory to our deceased loved ones. Join us and light the candles in the Forest cemetery for all you loved and for the souls of all good people who have passed away. Let yourself be carried away by the atmosphere of a luminescent cemetery. We will meet on 2nd of November, at 6 pm in front of Palach dorms. Together we go to the Forest cemetery to light the candles in the memory of the deceased.
Stripes and stars, crosses and triangles. Flags have different shapes and colours, and they represent various parts of the world. But now it is time for all of the different flags to come to one place and unite. As the international community of students in Hradec Králové is growing bigger every semester, we would like to celebrate the diversity that they bring with them.
For this reason, we would like to meet all of you at the university campus and then head for a short parade around the city centre. As a bonus, you might learn some interesting facts about Hradec Králové from our Czech student. The only thing you need to bring with you is the flag of your country so we can easily see from where did you come to study in the Czech Republic. (We can provide you with some flags, but please if you have your own flag, bring it with you!)
Burning the Witches Fire. Fun. Food. But also Tradition. These four words describe the Czech tradition of „Burning the Witches“ perfectly. An event which takes place on 30th of April in all Czech villages and cities. People gather together, drink, dance, barbecue and as a great ending to the day they gather around a big fire and burn a handmade figurine of a witch. We decided to introduce you to this tradition by taking some time outdoors and having a small barbecue over the fire near one of the beautiful lakes in Hradec!
Hello everyone, because your stay in Hradec is not just about party, It´s time to start with the quiz nights! This semester we will organize in total 3 quizzes. Every quiz night, the three best teams will win a prize! Each time we will have different topics – pictures, animals, music, etc. You will find out, which field is the best for you and which one is your weak point. Come to enjoy this night with us and your friends and win some interesting prices.
There can only be max 4 people in one team. If you don’t have team, don’t worry. Just come and we will find you someone .
There is only one rule: You are not allowed to use Google or a smartphone. If you get caught cheating (using your mobile) your team will be disqualified or you will do something embarrassing, like singing something nice.
Come and enjoy the evening with awesome buddies and your fellow students while testing your knowledge!
Dear Erasmus+ students and the European union citizens,
in the period from May 23rd till May 26th, the European parliament elections will take place in all the EU countries. And so in the soul of Erasmus Student Network Hradec Králové, we want to help you in use of your right to VOTE.
I (do not) want to participate in the elections:
1) If you want to, you can vote with us in the Hradec Králove city, in a polling station nearby the dormitories, but some administration obligations for this are required, and so if you want to use this option, contact me as soon as possible!!! The deadline is almost here.
We recommend to use other options to vote, according to the rules of your home country: You are propably able to vote:
2) via correspondence system

4) at your embassy in Prague
5) I do not know all the possibilities how to vote :)
inform us about your plans about the elections in this SHORT form, even if you do not want to participate
